Jessi’s work explores quiet narratives with fable-inspired imagery- navigating themes of solitude and curiosity towards the natural word. Charcoal, graphite, gouache, and oil pastel are utilized to illuminate dreamy atmospheres and soft, grainy details. Portraying the fictitious to represent her sense of feeling displaced, her current body of work reaches inwards to re-discover the warmth of home and to voice her own experience as an Asian-American raised in the South.
